Job Title: Data Engineer

Information about the role:

Data engineer roles are to collect data, work on data architecture and infrastructure, conduct research and automate tasks. They use a systematic approach to plan, create, and maintain data architectures while also keeping it aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibility

  • Ensure data consistency in our DATA Warehouse
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Product, Data and Commercial teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
  • Oversee the integration of data from various sources, ensuring accessibility, cleanliness, and usability for analytics and decision-making.
  • Design and maintain optimized data models to support reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance the performance of data processing systems for low latency and high throughput.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent with 2-3 years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines and data lakes.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Expertise in data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Solid understanding of data lake architectures, including the design and management of data lakes using technologies like AWS Lake Formation, Azure Data Lake, or Google Cloud Storage.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, columnar storage systems).
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools such as DBT, ER/Studio, or similar.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, or custom-built pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
